Daan & Victoria’s Elegant Wachesaw Plantation Wedding

Daan and Victoria’s wedding day was the perfect blend of timeless tradition and Southern charm. Their ceremony took place at the beautiful St. Michael’s Church in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, followed by a waterfront reception at Wachesaw Plantation — one of the most breathtaking wedding venues along the Grand Strand.

After the ceremony, we made our way to Wachesaw Plantation for wedding party photos beneath the massive live oak trees draped in Spanish moss. The soft, golden afternoon light filtered through the branches, creating the perfect backdrop for romantic portraits and joyful moments with family and friends. This location never disappoints — it’s one of my favorite places for wedding photography at Wachesaw Plantation, offering a mix of Lowcountry elegance and natural beauty.

Both Daan and Victoria come from close-knit families. Each of them has two brothers, and together they were surrounded by love and laughter throughout the day. Victoria’s three best friends stood by her side as bridesmaids, as well as one for Daan, all glowing in the soft coastal light. Some of Daan’s family made the trip from the Netherlands, bringing a special international touch to the celebration and reminding everyone just how far love can bring people together.

If you’re planning a wedding in the Murrells Inlet area, Wachesaw Plantation is one of the most romantic spots for your celebration. From its grand oak trees to its peaceful waterfront views, it’s truly a dream location for South Carolina wedding photography.
