There’s something timeless about Pawleys Island, South Carolina. The Spanish moss swaying from the giant live oaks, the quiet charm of the marsh, and the endless stretch of sandy beaches make it the perfect backdrop for love stories. As a Pawleys Island photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a better setting—or a sweeter couple—than Abbie and Wesley for their engagement photos.
We started the evening under the majestic live oaks at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, where the light filtered softly through the trees. The romantic, Lowcountry atmosphere set the tone perfectly. Abbie and Wesley’s laughter filled the air, and you could feel how natural they were together—playful, yet so deeply connected.
From there, we made our way to the south end of Pawleys Island just in time for sunset. If you’ve ever been there, you know how magical it is—the wide-open beach, the warm glow of the sky, and the peaceful rhythm of the waves. Abbie and Wesley embraced the adventure fully, running barefoot in the sand, getting a little salty and sandy, and even splashing in the water as the sun dipped below the horizon.
These are the kinds of moments I love to capture—real, unposed, joy-filled memories that feel like them. Pawleys Island always brings that perfect mix of beauty and intimacy, and this session was no exception.
