When Matt first met Shelley, she had ten cats — and that didn’t scare him off. If anything, it was the perfect introduction to the kind of love and laughter they share. From the very beginning, these two have embraced each other’s quirks and created a bond built on fun, warmth, and genuine joy.
Their wedding day reflected exactly that. Set beneath the breathtaking live oak trees at Brookgreen Gardens, Matt and Shelley said “I do” surrounded by their parents and a small circle of their closest family and friends. It was a truly intimate celebration, made even more special by the joining of their two families — as Shelley’s daughter played a meaningful part in their new chapter together.
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. After the ceremony, the newlyweds and I hopped on a golf cart to tour the gardens, capturing portraits among the stunning sculptures, pathways, and sprawling greenery. It was one of those sessions where everything just clicked: beautiful light, gorgeous surroundings, and a couple whose laughter came so naturally, it practically told their story for them.
Once our time together wrapped, the group gathered for a celebratory dinner at Gio’s in Pawleys Island, ending the day exactly how it began — with love, laughter, and their favorite people by their side.
Looking back through their photos, one thing is clear: Matt and Shelley don’t just love each other — they’ve built a joyful, blended family and a partnership filled with fun and heart.
